Automatic Traceability and Archiving System for Tiles
CRYSTAL
The CRYSTAL system by Dreampath Diagnostics in France fully manages the tile archive of both the histopathological and cytological laboratories, making archiving, finding, retrieving, and repositioning of tiles in the archive easier compared to the time-consuming conventional manual method used until now.
The system consists of:
- The Crystal Scanner, which scans the tiles that have a printed barcode and are placed in a special drawer with 240 slots.
- The special 240-slot drawers for archiving the tiles.
- The central computer, which carries the special software for the management and storage of the tiles.
- The portable computing device (PDA) for the easy retrieval and repositioning of a tile from and to the archive, which is usually located in a remote location from the laboratory.
Automatic Traceability and Archiving System for Paraffin Blocks
FINA
This is an innovative system for the automatic traceability and archiving of paraffin blocks, which ensures the complete protection of the patient's sample and significantly reduces the hours of staff engagement with archiving. The samples are kept fully secure and are always available for further diagnostic and clinical research.
The system consists of:
- The Fina Scanner, which scans the cassettes that have a printed barcode and are placed in a special drawer with 240 slots.
- The special 240-slot drawers for the archiving of paraffin blocks.
- The central computer, which carries the special software for the management and storage of the blocks.
- The portable computing device (PDA) for the easy retrieval and repositioning of a block from and to the archive, which is usually located in a remote location from the laboratory.

With HYDRA, security and traceability gaps are eliminated, as it ensures complete traceability of patient samples before and after processing in the histokinetic until the final archiving.
